Responding to Ensure Safety & Security for All

This site provides GHS staff with information and resources related to our Behavioral Response Team, or BRT. The Who, What, When, Where, and Why are all answered, in addition to quick access to important policiesĀ related to behavioral patients. The BRT went live hospital-wide on April 3, 2017. There is both anĀ Emergent BRT and Proactive BRT.

Calling a BRT
  • Press your duress button
  • Dial 911
  • Tell the dispatcher:
    • Your location: building, floor, department , room number, closest elevator
    • The nature of the emergency (behavioral)
    • Your name
    • Your call back number
  • Stay on the line

The BRT’s success depends on you! As with all new roles and teams, this one will undoubtedly come with kinks that need to be worked out. Help The BRT be successful by learning more about this important work and asking questions and offering suggestions for improvement as you utilize this service at GHS.

  1. The who, what, where, when, how, why helps out when someone is writing the very first paper in school. But this can also be used at work. When you are writing a project proposal or creating an event, those questions are essential to ask. You talk more about organizational management. How do you use the who, what, where, when, how and why in your every day work? For me, I had to indirectly use it when I had to perform an audit. I basically made sure that information for payroll was being recorded properly.
